This update is something we are really proud of. Apart from some great fixes and feature updates for all, we’re introducing a feature no audio workstation has included before – A world first!

It’s the best reason yet to go Hindenburg Journalist PRO. We call it: Call Recorder.

Call Recorder

As of today, your Skype™ account is fully integrated into Hindenburg Journalist PRO. Now you can make a call from within the Hindenburg interface and record the conversation. No extra applications, routing or steps are needed. The conversation is instantly there.

You can even play back pre-recorded sound bites to the interviewee during the conversation from anywhere in Hindenburg.

What’s more, you no longer have to re-record your own questions; Use the direct signal from your studio microphone.

Call Recorder features:

• Search Skype™ contacts or use dial pad to enter phone number for Skypeout calls
• Call interviewees via Skype™ or Skypeout; directly from Hindenburg Journalist Pro interface
• Record and edit each call participant separately
• Play back pre-recorded audio to the interviewee
• Choose between Skype™ input or direct audio input
• Organise your interviews in the global Call Recordings clipboard

Trial codes reset: 30 days to test Call Recorder

To give everyone the opportunity to try out the Call Recorder, we have reset all trial codes so you can test PRO for 30 days with the new features. Simply download Hindenburg Journalist 1.20 and grab a new trial license key. If you decide not to upgrade to PRO, simply enter your previous license key after the trial period expires.

Minor Bug Fixes

User Guide Updated 1.20 version of the User Guide is now ready for download.

VST compatibility increased robustness to avoid crashes with VST plugins that don’t follow standards.

Vista and 7 audio compatibility “Exclusive Mode” control of sound card no longer needed in order to allow recording of most audio sources (incl. browser audio) without adjusting settings

Unfortunately we did not manage to get Transcription keys working satisfactorily for vers. 1.20. We have the functionality implemented but are not happy with the user experience. We will release the feature as soon as we find the right solution.

We also have fixed some glitches relevant to Windows and iTunes users – we apologise for any inconvenience these may have caused.

Normally we try to restrict ourselves to a few words when we send out an update newsletter. But today is different.

The latest update of Hindenburg Journalist is a big leap forward. Introducing grouped regions, clips with multiple regions, zoom to selection and more.

New Features

• Multiple regions to clipboard

Put edited interviews and mixed passages onto the clipboard as a single clip.

• Group regions

Group interview bites and selected passages of you story, to make organizing the story easier. Simply select the relevant regions and press Cmd+G (Windows: Ctrl+G)

• Zoom to selection

  Select an area for viewing. Press (Cmd/Ctrl+) H and the selected area will fill the screen width.

• Meta Data

  By adding meta data you can make your end product searchable and informative for your listeners. This is useful when sharing files with broadcasters or for use on the internet. You can also view meta data for imported clips in the Region Properties window.

• CD import

  Import tracks directly from a CD. Insert the CD into the computer and select the desired track. For importing multiple tracks, import into the clipboard.

• Session import

  If you putting together a large program consisting of shorter segments, it is useful to be able to import other sessions into your current session. When in the workspace, use the regular import function. Choose a session to import.
